I found him to be easy going and very friendly he kept the kids calm and made them feel comfortable with driving and made every lesson enjoyable. From the first drive where he had the pedals and I just steered, has always give clear and straightforward directions. Made learning manual beyond fun and not too stressful. Stephen was a very knowledgable driving instructor, explaining everything on the roads in a way a teenager could understand it. I was very comfortable in his company and in his car, it was always clean and ready for my lessons. He taught the manoeuvres so that I could easily be able to do them, and if I was struggling, would find a way to make it easier, even if it meant breaking it down from movement to movement. He also provided background knowledge on how to drive more effectively, and safer on the roads. I would recommend Stephen as a driving instructor for anyone who is learning manual, he truly made me into the best driver I can be.

I completed twelve manual lessons under the guidance of Stephen and passed my test on my first attempt. He has a very constructive and informative approach to teaching that allowed me to develop both the skills I needed and an understanding of how things work/why they matter.
Stephen doesn't settle for driving that is simply "good enough", instead instructing on how to properly competent and encouraging you to do better where possible. With that being said, doesn't fail to acknowledge when you do well. I found this particularly helpful because it allowed me to discern where I needed to put more of my time towards.
Not only is Stephen a great instructor but he is also a very welcoming and laid back person. He is easy to get along with and happy to have a chat (not without compromising your learning, though).
Would recommend Stephen for driving lessons, especially for people with social anxiety.

Great guy, very kind and easy to understand. He was very calming when I mentioned I was nervous and scared of certain manoeuvres and parts of driving.
Very reassuring and clear - even pulled out a whiteboard and started drawing to help me understand something.
